Disaster Recovery from Integrity... 

Disaster recover sounds expensive...we've heard this before from customers and yes it can be. With the increasing importance of computer [inset side=left]"of those companies that suffer a major loss of business data, 43% never reopen, 51% close within two years, and only 6% will survive"[/inset]networks, protecting data and the IT infrastructure in the event of a 'disaster' whether natural or man-made, is becoming a priority within all businesses and many pay thousands of pounds for specialist disater recovery services.

It's estimated that of those companies that suffer a major loss of business data, 43% never reopen, 51% close within two years, and only 6% will survive long-term! So for larger companies the cost of putting in place expensive, elaborate disaster recovery plans is worthwhile. What about the small to medium size businesses? Well now there is a simple, cost effective way of providing a high level of additional security to servers/data available and in-use with the majority of our customers thesedays.

Using a product called BESR (Backup Exec System Recovery) from Symantec however, it's a different matter. BESR enables a complete Windows system to be restored in minutes, even to dissimilar hardware & for a few hundred pounds for a server. In real terms this software product backs up your server to an inexpensive external hard drive on a regular scheduled basis, just like a tape backup. The big difference with BESR is that the complete server is backed up with operating system, applications & data, all in one 'image'.

If the worst should happen to your server (or servers) and everything is lost or currupted, the whole server can be restored in a matter of a couple of hours. Without BESR, this could take several days!

Additional capabilities include flexible off-site protection, Exchange, file/folder recovery and support for the latest virtual environments and Microsoft operating systems.
